Overview
Hotel Alpenschlössl is a mountain hotel in the Austrian Alps, where the experience is closely tied to its surroundings, wellness offering, rooms and suites, dining, and the activities available throughout the year. For a hospitality website, the challenge is different from a typical business website.
Guests are not simply looking for information. They are trying to imagine what it will feel like to be there.
The goal was to create a digital experience that could communicate that feeling while making practical information - rooms, wellness, dining, activities, offers, and booking - easy to find.
The Challenge
Capture the atmosphere without losing the practicality
A hotel website has a short window to make an impression. Before booking, visitors want to understand the atmosphere of the property, see where they would stay, explore the facilities, understand what is included, and get a sense of the surrounding destination.
The challenge was to bring together the hotel's visual identity, accommodation, wellness experience, dining, location, and seasonal activities without losing the sense of escape that makes the destination appealing.
Too much information can make the experience feel like reading a brochure.
Our Approach
Designed around the guest journey - not the hotel's internal structure
The first impression is driven by the destination and the property itself, giving visitors an immediate sense of place. From there, the experience leads naturally into the areas that influence a booking.
Guests can move into rooms and suites, wellness, culinary experiences, activities, packages, or the surrounding destination depending on what matters most to them. This allows the website to work both as an inspirational experience and as a practical planning tool.
Visual Experience
Calm, premium, and connected to its Alpine setting
For a destination property, imagery carries much of the communication. The design gives photography enough space to showcase the hotel, its surroundings, rooms, wellness areas, and seasonal atmosphere.
Rather than covering the interface with visual elements, the design uses a restrained structure that lets the property remain the focus. Large imagery establishes emotion, while typography and content sections provide the information needed to move toward a booking.
Accommodation & Experiences
Rooms, wellness, dining, and Alpine activities in one connected journey
The room experience is one of the most important parts of the booking journey. Visitors can explore the different accommodation options, understand their characteristics, view imagery, and compare the experience before moving toward a reservation - focusing on the space, atmosphere, amenities, views, and overall experience.
Wellness, dining, outdoor activities, and the surrounding Alpine destination are given dedicated space within the experience, helping visitors understand what a stay actually looks like - whether they are interested in relaxation, skiing, hiking, food, or simply getting away.
Booking Journey
Two very different moments - both served seamlessly
The final step is kept straightforward. Once visitors have explored the hotel and found the right accommodation or offer, the booking journey is easy to identify and access.
“I want to see what this place is like.”
Inspirational photography, atmosphere, experiences, and destination storytelling guide the discovery journey.
“I'm ready to plan my stay.”
Offers, availability, room details, contact, and booking actions are surfaced clearly when the guest is ready.
Technology
Technology largely invisible to the guest
The website was developed as a modern hospitality platform focused on visual storytelling, structured content, responsive experiences, and booking-oriented journeys. The technology remains largely invisible to the guest, allowing the property and the experience to take centre stage.
The Outcome
A digital experience that reflects the property itself
The finished website gives Hotel Alpenschlössl a digital experience that reflects what makes the property valuable: the setting, the atmosphere, and the experience of staying there. Instead of presenting a long list of hotel facilities, the website helps visitors imagine their stay.
A hospitality experience that connects inspiration with action - from discovering the Alpine setting to planning a stay.
